What did you notice today?
Every day, your child makes choices, shares ideas and interacts with others.
These little moments tell us how children think, express themselves and participate. With the right opportunities to practise, these skills can grow stronger.
STEP is Nurche’s program for building these three outcomes through live, small-group practice: thinking independently, expressing confidently and participating actively.
STEP works alongside school and extracurricular activities such as sports, art and music. It does not replace them or teach academic subjects. It helps children practise abilities they use in all of them, such as following instructions, asking questions and making decisions.
Every child starts somewhere. Every opportunity to practise matters.
- Think Independently: How does your child approach a challenge? When something doesn’t work, do they try another way, ask questions or explore different possibilities? With STEP at Nurche, children practise thinking independently, making decisions, solving problems and exploring new ideas.
- Express Confidently: How does your child share what’s on their mind? How do they explain what happened, share their ideas or communicate what they’re feeling? With STEP at Nurche, children practise expressing their thoughts, feelings and reasoning with growing clarity and confidence.
- Participate Actively: How does your child engage with others? How do they join activities, listen to others, take turns or contribute to something together? With STEP at Nurche, children practise listening, collaborating, taking initiative and contributing to group activities.
8 learning journeys. Skills for life.
Life skills aren’t developed through one subject or one activity.
STEP at Nurche brings together 8 connected learning journeys that help children think independently, express confidently and participate actively in different situations.
- Communication & Public Speaking: Share ideas clearly, explain thoughts, ask questions and speak with growing confidence.
- Emotional Intelligence & Social Skills: Understand feelings, manage everyday setbacks, build friendships and interact with empathy.
- Listening, Focus & Memory: Listen attentively, follow instructions, remember information and organise thoughts.
- Critical Thinking & Problem Solving: Ask questions, explore possibilities, think through challenges and make thoughtful decisions.
- Confidence & Personality Development: Discover strengths, make choices, take initiative and grow in independence.
- Creativity, Design & Innovation: Imagine possibilities, create something new, test ideas and find better ways of doing things.
- Digital Literacy & Online Safety: Build age-appropriate awareness of the digital world, question information and make safer choices online.
- Entrepreneurship & Financial Literacy: Explore needs and wants, understand value, generate ideas and practise making thoughtful choices.
Not just learning about life skills. Practising them.
Children don’t become confident communicators just by learning what communication means. They grow through opportunities to speak, listen, try, make choices and interact.
That’s why STEP at Nurche is built around live, activity-based small-group classes, where children learn by doing, not just watching or listening.
- BUILD — Discover & Understand: The teacher introduces an engaging challenge, activity or real-life situation. Children explore the idea, ask questions and discover ways to approach it with guidance.
- PRACTISE — Try, Think & Participate: Children actively take part. They make choices, explain their thinking, solve problems, listen to others and try different approaches. Teachers encourage, guide and help children improve through repeated practice.
- TRANSFER — Apply It Differently: Children revisit the skill through a new challenge, situation or everyday example. The goal is to help them gradually use what they’ve practised beyond a single activity.
Small Groups. Meaningful Participation.
- Maximum 5 children per batch. So every child gets opportunities to speak, think, respond and contribute.
- 4 live classes every week. Because meaningful skills develop through consistent practice, not a one-time lesson.
- Activities, not lectures. Children learn through conversations, games, role-play, problem-solving and interactive challenges.
- Progress you can observe. Teachers look at how children approach challenges, share ideas, participate and grow with practice.
